MULTI-SYSTEM COMMERCIAL PROJECT

CCTV, access control and intruder delivery under one programme.

Challenge: Multiple systems, tight construction programme, several interfaces and incomplete information at handover.

SPM approach: Formal sales handover review, programme, procurement tracker, engineer plan, weekly RAG report, variation control and structured O&M close-out.

Challenge: Turnstile/speed-gate installation requiring specialist attendance, power/data readiness, access equipment, fixing details and integration with access control.

SPM approach: Pre-start readiness review, subcontractor coordination, access-equipment plan, milestone tracking, snagging and handover-document control.

Management outcome: Clear dependencies, less avoidable engineer downtime and a stronger audit trail from installation through client sign-off.

PROJECT ASSURANCE

Understanding why a project is consuming more labour than sold.

Challenge: Actual labour increasing beyond estimated hours with uncertainty over whether the root cause sits in estimating, delivery, site constraints or engineering productivity.

SPM approach: Break down travel, first fix, second fix and commissioning; compare sold vs actual; review return visits, subcontractors and access constraints; categorise root causes.

Management outcome: A factual close-out report that can improve future estimating and resource allocation.
